Position Purpose:

is to find and train highly trained workers who will expand Transnet’s company and increase production, profitability, and an employer’s bottom line. Transnet Academy is providing comprehensive scholarships to learners who wish to pursue artisitc training in the following field and location as part of Transnet’s human capital development strategy.

Position results

•Machine installations in the workshops

• Upkeep and repair of all structures and equipment

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs for motorized and electrohydraulic equipment.

• Carry out PMs and file defect reports

mechanical reworking, alterations, and improvements to machinery and equipment

 

Competencies & Experience:

•NTC2 with 4 successfully completed relevant trade topics;

•Level 4 or above of the Technical National Certificate Vocational with seven topics satisfactorily completed;

•Technical Matric Certificate with passes in Physical Science, Mathematics, and the applicable trade theory

 

 

Competencies:

1. Applicants must be citizens of South Africa and be free of any other financial obligations to other organizations.
2. Applicants who are believed to be South African youth shall receive preference (under the age of 35).
3. Candidates with top academic status will be given preference.
4. The Company’s Recruitment and Selection Policy, Employment Equity Plan, and other policies shall be followed in the selection process.
5. The appropriate Transnet Faculty of Engineering Campus will be used for all training.
6. Permanent employment with Transnet is not guaranteed upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship. Only a training and development opportunity exists here.
7. Please be aware that NO lodging or transportation help will be given prior to, during, or following the completion of the apprentice program.
