Position Title:  Apprentice – Turner/Machinist

 

The Siemens Energy Apprenticeship Scheme (SEAS) is a 48-month programme. The programme will offer both institutional and on the job training that will assist the incumbent to attain a trade test certificate.

During the 48-month programme the candidate will learn how to operate a machine tool called a turning lathe, which is used to shape and form metal into desired shapes and sizes. The candidate will be familiarised with different types of cutting tools, and how to use them to make specific cuts and shapes. The candidate will also learn how to make any necessary adjustments to the machine to ensure that it is working properly. In addition to operating the lathe, the candidate will also perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks. The candidate will also learn how to inspect the finished products to make sure they meet quality standards, and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.

Overall, a turner plays a critical role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that high-quality products are produced efficiently and effectively.

  • Mathematics N3-N6
  • Engineering Science N3-N6
  • Mechanotechnology N3-N6
  • Engineering Drawings N3-N6

Or National Certificate (Vocational) 4

  • Engineering Processes
  • Professional Engineering Practice
  • Applied Engineering technology
  • Clear criminal record
  • Hardworking, driven, be able to work under pressure,
