Introduction
Komatsu is seeking an experienced Artisan Assitant to join their dynamic team in Witbank. The preferred candidate should have 1 year of experience on heavy earthmoving equipment within the mining industry. The candidate will be responsible for assiting the artisan with general functions.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Exposure to earth-moving Equipment
Have good troubleshooting on machines & familiar with standard tool requirements
Computer literate
Good understanding of maintenance philosophy
Good communication
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Grade 12 with technical subjects, or N3
2. Year general workshop, technical environment experience
3. Basic knowledge of workshop tools
4. Ability to read, write and speak English
5. Valid drivers’ license (code 8) an advantage
6. Other certifications an advantage (forklift, crane, welding) but not required
Job Specification Summary:
Remains up to date with health and safety procedures.
Understands instructions according to planned priorities
Complies with and Instructs colleagues and subordinate staff in the wearing of protective gear and clothing
Operates any company vehicle (truck, car, forklift) within safety standards and procedures, even when not supervised
Moves machinery (HEMachine) as part of service operations (cleaning, assembly, disassembly & repairs)
Operates machinery according to the Operator Maintenance Manual
Maintains safe operation of tools and within acceptable/prescribed safety levels
Assists artisan with specialised tools & diagnostic operation
Reports any problems/issues to artisan/supervisor immediately (during same shift)
