Public Safety Services: Fire Fighter Learnership – The Department of Public Safety Services invites individuals that are medically and physically fit to apply for a Fire Fighter Learnership Programme.

 

The successful candidates will be required to respond to and deal with firefighting emergencies in order to protect lives and properties.

 

No experience is required to qualify for the programme. Training will be provided.

Programme Title: Learner Fire Fighter

Stipend: R12 711,13 – R16 499,59 per month

Location: Department Of Public Safety Services, Saldanha

Public Safety Services: Fire Fighter Learnership – Minimun Requirements & Competencies:

Have passed Grade 12/Matric.

Clear criminal record.

Focused, Resilient, Influential and negotiation skills.

Physically and mentally fit.

Communication skills and team player.

Emergency, service delivery,  action and outcome orientated.

 

Interpersonal relations.

Professional and impactful.

Competent in special and rescue operations, fire fighting, emercency medical care, fire safety and prevention.

Medical Research Council Fieldworkers

Adaptability to change.

Must pass the physical ability test (CPAT) and Medical test NFPA 1582.

Leadership skills, call taking and dispatch.

Driver’s license Code B and Fire Fighter Certificate 1 will be an added advantage.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus.

Maintain fire station facilities under supervision.

Respond and deal with fire fighting emegencies.

Protect the lives and property of the citizens of Saldanha Bay Municipality in accordance with the Fire Brigade Services Act (Act 99 of 1987).
