VACANCY: APPRENTICE – INSTRUMENTATION
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: FIXED TERM (48 MONTHS)
GRADE: B-LOWER
DIVISION: REFINERY

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
An Apprenticeship Training Programme is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction.
It is also a training pathway intended to encourage Apprentices to further their studies and participate in formal industry training leading to being a qualified Artisan within the Engineering field.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric qualification with both Maths and Science achieved at a pass mark of 50% ;
Must have completed an N2 Instrumentation related qualification, which includes the following modules:
Maths
Industrial Electronics
Instrumentation Trade Theory
Engineering Science
Kindly ensure that certified ID copy, proof of qualification and academic record is attached when applying.
This training is strictly aimed at potential candidates who have obtained an N2 qualification – if you have a qualification higher than an N2, please ensure that you have also completed an N2 qualification as this is the required minimum.
NB*:It is a requirement that apprentices work under the supervision of a certified Artisan for the duration of the programme.
Apprentices cannot perform the duties of an Artisan until qualified.
As per the merSETA requirements, Apprentices will be allocated qualified Artisans as a mentors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a 4-year Training Programme where incumbents will be afforded both institutionalised and on-the-job training, where they will be given an opportunity to attain a Trade Test certificate.
