Description
PURPOSE
This exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander to assist artisans with ensuring the safe efficient installation, maintenance and repairs of all electrical equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Maintenance
Punctual adherence to site specific time schedules/shift times.
Assist in maintenance and repairs of all electrical equipment.
Attend safety and pre-shift meetings.
Attend training sessions as required.
Health and Safety
Ensure all work is up to safety standards.
Support all safety procedures.
Follow the written health and safety codes by wearing correct personal protective equipment.
Ensure emergency preparedness from all team members.
Participation in all training activities.
Inspection and Reporting
Identifies, prioritises and plans equipment in need of maintenance and repairs.
Assist in conducting planned inspection of all equipment and tools.
Ensure all reports are presented to designated areas.
House Keeping
Practice good housekeeping across all working areas.
Cleaning of tools.
Storing of equipment properly.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
High school certificate
Basic electrical course
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in mining/construction/transport/plant hire or manufacturing.
Previous exposure to the electrical discipline will be preferable.
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Medically fit as per company standards
Risk assessment skills.
Basic planning skills
Verbal communication
Understand what constitutes unsafe conditions and behavior.
Basic understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures
Electrician skills
Ability to work in a team.
