Job Summary:
Apprentices should be willing to learn and take instruction from artisans and Management to ensure that they are able to carry out various tasks in line with a training logbook and the Company’s operational requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Training:

1. The duration of the Apprenticeship is typically three years and the Apprentice will be required to sign a formal contract with the Employer for this period

2. The apprentice will be required to undergo trade specific training in line with a logbook provided by MerSETA

3. Apprentices will be afforded the opportunity to gain the specific knowledge, skills, and experience they need and this will typically be accomplished through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction

4. The apprentice will be required to fulfil reasonable duties in line with the operational requirements of the organisation

1. Minimum of Grade 12/N2 with maths, science and relevant trade subjects
The incumbent should possess/ display the following key skills or attributes: 1

1. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn new skills and to be formally trained in a recognised Engineering Trade
2. Ability to be trained in physical, practical and theoretical skills

3. Good communication and literacy skills (be able to read, write and understand English)

4. Ability to work under pressure, take initiative and be a team player S. Mechanically inclined, must display the necessary hand

•eye coordination abilities required to be an artisan
