Key Output
• Assist the mechanic(s) in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.
• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
• Minimum Grade 8 or ABET level 2 (Numeracy and Literacy)
• Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision
• Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage
