INTRODUCTION
Komatsu has an opportunity for a technically minded individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving equipment to assist the artisan with general functions as an Assistant Artisan with at least 1 year experience in Earthmoving Equipment to join our team at Mafube.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 with technical subjects, or Technical N3
• 6 months general workshop, technical environment experience / experience working on earthing moving machines.
• Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, good communication and inter-personal skills.
• Valid drivers’ license (code 8) an advantage.
• Other certifications an advantage (forklift, crane, welding) but not required. • Have a passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery.
• SHE — basic knowledge of the Health and Safety act.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Machine/component assembly and disassembly.
• Component/ machine cleaning.
• Basic maintenance and housekeeping. • Drives Komatsu service vehicle.
• Komatsu machine operation.
• Required to work overtime and standby from time to time and must be prepared to travel when needed.
• Assist the artisan in all aspects.
• Must be safety orientated as machine movement and component movements are present.
• Must have some knowledge on basic tools and the purpose of tools used.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A Team player, ability to work well within a team environment
