Universal Recycling Company (Pty) Ltd is a ferrous and non-ferrous metal recycling plant in Industria, Johannesburg. We are looking for a semi-skilled Mechanical Workshop Assistant to join our team. This position reports directly to the Diesel Mechanical Workshop Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
A mechanical workshop assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of a mechanical workshop. Here are some key aspects and tasks associated with the role:
Responsibilities
- Tool and Equipment Management:
- Maintain and organise tools and equipment.
- Ensure all tools are in good working condition.
- Assisting Technicians and Engineers:
- Provide support during repair and maintenance tasks.
- Help with the assembly and disassembly of machinery.
- Prepare parts and components needed for specific jobs.
- Workshop Maintenance:
- Keep the workshop clean and organised.
- Dispose of waste materials properly.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Update logs for equipment usage and service history.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to understand their requirements.
- Provide updates on the status of their equipment.
