Introduction
Komatsu South Africa is seeking an experienced Artisan Assistant to join our dynamic team in Phalaborwa. The preferred candidate should have at least 1 year experience in a general workshop/technical environment and a Matric/Grade 12 Certificate.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
• Machine/component assembly and disassembly.
• Component/ machine cleaning.
• Basic maintenance and housekeeping.
• Drives Komatsu service vehicle.
• Komatsu machine operation.
• Required to work overtime and standby from time to time and must be prepared to travel when needed.
• Assist the artisan in all aspects.
• Must be safety orientated as machine movement and component movements are present.
• Must have some knowledge on basic tools and the purpose of tools used.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A Team player, ability to work well within a team environment
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualification:
• Grade 12
• Forklift, crane, welding certificate (an advantage) but not required.
Experience:
• 1 year general workshop/technical environment experience (an advantage)
• Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.
Knowledge Requirements:
• Code 8 Valid drivers’ license (essential).
• Code 14 Valid drivers’ license (an advantage).
• Have a passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery.
• SHE – basic knowledge of the Health and Safety act.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, good communication and inter-personal skills.
