We have an opportunity for 2 (two) apprentices to join our organisation to complete their practical training needed to qualify as a Millwright.
Completion of Theory for the course is a minimum requirement
We invite applicants who are willing to learn and push their skillset to the next level.
Minimum Requirements
• Education: Matric and/or Technical N3 (Math’s, Science, Technical Drawings, Mechanical Engineering).
• Experience: Training from QCTO-registered trade school Min Two Years practical.
• Must Have Complete Institute Training
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
• Hydraulic skill will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in electrical assembly will be an advantage
• Good communication and people skills. (Team Player)
• Willing to work overtime if required.
• Willing to work under pressure.
• Own Transport
• Medically fit
Duties and Responsibilities
Key areas of learning will include:
1. Assembly and Installation
• Assemble hydraulic systems following engineering drawings and specifications.
• Install hydraulic systems in various applications ensuring adherence to detailed instructions and protocols.
2. Repair and Maintenance
• Diagnose issues within hydraulic systems and perform necessary repairs to restore functionality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
3. Component Replacement
• Replace worn or damaged components such as pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings.
4. Assembly and Wiring
• Assemble electrical control panels by mounting components such as circuit breakers, relays, and terminal blocks onto back panels or sub-panels.
• Wire electrical components according to schematic diagrams, ensuring proper connections and adherence to electrical codes.
• Label wires and components for identification and ease of troubleshooting.
5. Troubleshooting
• Identify malfunctions and failures within hydraulic systems.
• Determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
6. Safety Compliance
• Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards while working with hydraulic systems.
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely to prevent accidents and injuries
7. Documentation
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, repairs, maintenance activities, and component inventories.
• Complete Quality Control Procedures (QCP) and other required documentation.
8. Customer Service
• Interact with Artisan to understand hydraulic system requirements.
• Provide technical assistance, support, and address concerns or questions.
