Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this role is to ensure that all machines and production equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition to support maximum production output and minimal downtime.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment in the Roll, Serviette, and Ink Factories, ensuring that all machinery is properly maintained, serviced, according to operational requirements.
This role plays a critical part in:
• Reducing unplanned downtime
• Minimizing maintenance and repair costs
• Extending the useful life of production assets
• Supporting production teams to maintain consistent and efficient operations
The incumbent will also be required to be available when operational demands require, including breakdowns and urgent maintenance situations.
Responsibility:
• Must have institutional (workshop) training in a mechanical or technical environment
• Good understanding of basic Health and Safety regulations and protocols in an industrial or factory environment
• Willingness to learn, develop, and improve technical skills
• Basic understanding of machinery, tools, and mechanical systems
• Ability to follow maintenance procedures, instructions, and safety standards
• Good work ethic and ability to work uncle and as part of a team
Minimum Requirements For UP 2026 Millwright Apprentice
• N2 qualification in a relevant trade theory (Mechanical / Fitting / Engineering or similar)
• Must have completed institutional (workshop) training
• Strong interest in mechanical maintenance and engineering work
• Willingness to work in a factory / manufacturing environment
