Job Responsibilities:
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:
- Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
CUSTOMERS
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
BUSINESS PROCESSES:
- Perform the job as outlined in the work order and as per the detailed Task list
- Capture history and complete the notification to the required standard
- Confirm work order with the correct time and all details to the required standard
- Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on any task where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements
- Communicate if spares, equipment, or other factors were not available for the job on the work order and to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Generate notifications from inspections and subsequent notifications
- Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in sections
- Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis and regular equipment inspections
- Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment
- Comply with MHSA standards, ensure that installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standards and planned maintenance system requirements
- Ensure awareness of relevant COP content
- Complete breakdown works orders, create notifications and provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor in order to generate orders on the SAP system.
Unplanned interventions
- Adhere to lock-out procedure and assess risks before work starts.
- Attend to breakdowns quickly and safely.
- Capture all data related to the stoppage to aid in determining the root cause.
Rotables Management:
- Ensure availability of spares by adhering to rotables procedure where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12/N2
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- At least 3 years’ experience in conveyors, pumps, chairlifts, Box fronts, Dams, Decline Winders and general fitting work.
- 2 years supervisory experience

SA Manganese was formed in 1926 to mine manganese ore deposits in the Northern Cape, whilst Amcor was established in 1937 to exploit mineral deposits for the steel industry and to process those minerals into ferroalloys.
