Requirements
Engineering Trades:
– A minimum of National Technical Certificate qualification
(Mechanical and Trade Theory, Mathematics, Engineering Science
and any fourth subject) OR Technical Matric (Grade 12 with
Mechanical Trade Theory, Mathematics, Physical Science and
Technical Drawing) OR Full National Certificate Vocational 4
(Mechanical with 7 subjects) OR Grade 12 ( Mathematics, Physical
Science with other subjects)
– Must reside in the City of Cape Town Metropole with proof of
residence.
Construction Trades:
– A minimum of National Technical Certificate 3 qualification
(Mechanical and Trade Theory, Mathematics, Engineering Science
and any fourth subject) OR Technical Matric (Grade 12 with
Mechanical Trade Theory, Mathematics, Physical Science and
Technical Drawing OR Full National Certificate Vocational 4
(Mechanical with 7 Subjects) OR Grade 12 (Mathematical Literacy,
Physical or any other Science with other subjects)
– Must reside in the City of Cape Town Metropole with proof of
residence.
Please note:
– Applicants will go through a medical assessment according to each trade’s specifications.
– Medically precarious applicants won’t be taken into consideration for the apprentice program.
– Applicants will not be taken into consideration if, at the time the program begins, they are already qualified in any trade.
– Applicants who hold a national diploma qualification or above will not be taken into consideration.
– Applicants are only permitted to submit one application per trade.
– On request, certified copies of credentials must be made accessible.
– Copies of supplemental documentation won’t be given back.

Along with operating contact centers and load control systems, our department also offers support services including vending and billing systems.
