Position: Mechanical Artisan Assistant (Non-renewal 6-month contract)
Department: Economic Development
Division: Transport & Fleet – Workshop Vehicle and Maintenance
Salary: R4 356 per month
Core Responsibilities:
Helps mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil change, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks
Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and light.
Cleans the workshop and returns tools to proper location.
Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Updates maintenance and repair log sheet for vehicles.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
N1 in Mechanical Engineering/Motor Mechanics
Working knowledge of the languages and dynamics of the City
South African Identity Document.
Resident of City of Ekurhuleni (specify Ward).
Young person 18 -35 years, but men and women over 35 years will be considered
Ability to communicate with communities.
Ability to read and write
