JOB PURPOSE

To provide maintenance services that ensure the A Re Yeng stations are in good working order and suitable for safe efficient use by the bus passengers.

To ensure stations are maintained in accordance with the operational requirements of the Bus Operating Company Agreement maintenance schedules within the timeframes and standards stipulated  by the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.

To conduct maintenance inspections at the stations.

Always ensure safe working environment at all sites.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

MAINTENANCE

Attending to emergency electrical faults and maintenance upon receipt of complaints, (immediate response) ( rectify within 4 hours fault finding).

Materials ordering with procurement 24 hours before installation scheduled time.

Carry out visual inspections on all electrical equipment at all stations.

Check, repair and correct all electrical points and fixtures upon receipt of complaints (within 12 hours)

Trouble shoot electrical faults on equipment such as circuit breaker, timer, contactors, and UPS Systems. (As and when the fault occurs and keep client updated)

Fault trace electrical circuits during trouble shooting.

Manage power failures (within 24 Hours of occurrence)

Manage, monitor, and evaluate new installations and monitor contractors.

Connect and test the standby generator once weekly.

Attend to urgent faults and maintenance upon receipt of complaint. (Response within an hour)

Rectify faults by end of a working day.

Conduct preventative maintenance per the maintenance schedule.

Perform any other duties as delegated by the Maintenance Officer or Stations Overseer.

 

HEATING, VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONAL (HVAC)

Maintain all HVAC systems per the preventative maintenance schedule.

Conduct system inspections as prescribed.

Educate users on fault reporting procedures.

 

REPORTING

Compile defects report (Monthly per station).

Compile defects report (quarterly per station).

Compile defects report (Annually per station).

Advise Stations Overseer of incidents as they occur.

Attend JOC meetings when required to do so.

Audit hand tools, electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices (Monthly).

Audit inventory of spare parts (monthly and report to Stations Overseer by end of each month).

Maintain update and audit fixed asset registerer per station. (31 July and 31 December each year.

ADMINISTRATION

Maintain calendar and ensure all deadlines are met. (Day to day).

Prepare all necessary documents for inspection by City.

Communicate accurate defects report to other stakeholders for their attention (As in when necessary

Always keep records neatly filed.

Provide specifications of spares to Stations Overseer and procurement. ( a day before they are required).

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

Keep tools box and spare wheel in the maintenance vehicle. (at all times).

Maintain the vehicle in a clean condition (car wash every Friday).

Monitor vehicle usage and update the logbook (Daily).

Submit logbooks to Bookkeeper  (Every Friday).

Ensure vehicle is serviced at intervals as stipulated by the dealer.

CONTRACTORS

Monitor the contractors work in progress and report to Maintenance officer.

Conduct quality control measures. (At the completion of their service daily).

Always ensure safety precautions at work sites and recommend adjustments.

Evaluate new installed components and test functionality (Work in progress).

File the purchase orders after emailing.

Attend maintenance meetings (As and when required to do so).

Submit invoices for payments to Finance. (once spares are collected).

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of Grade 12 with Mathematics.

Preferable someone who is studying towards a technical qualification or maintenance trade (Electrical, Mechanical and Air Conditioning)

Experience.

Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical maintenance

Computer literacy: MS package including Outlook, Word, knowledge PowerPoint and Excel.
