Herewith we want to inform you that Vedanta Zinc International has given Africa Skills Pofadder the go-ahead to recruit learners from the communities for another intake, the fourth for the upskilling and capacity building programme to make members more employable.

This will be the first intake for 2025 at the Community Skills Development Skills Development Centre in Pofadder. To give more community members the opportunity to be part of the training some of the programmes will be presented in the communities as well. If everything goes according to plan the training will start as early as possible in February 2025.

The following learning areas will form part of the programme.
1. Welder Assistant (Basic Welding. Arc and CO2).
2. General Residential Repairer: ), Carpentry repair and replacement 5 Electrical Repair, Replace and Maintain Plumbing Repair, Replace and Maintain Tiling Repairs and Replacement
3. Renewable Energy Workshop Assistant:

4. Entrepreneurial Development: Ideal for the candidates who have completed the Artisan Assistant programmes to enable them to start their own businesses.
5. # Administration Assistant:

6. # End User Computer

7. # Home Base Care Assistant: Specific for those interested to take care of the old aged in the communities.

8. Supervisory Training: Specific for the Small and Medium business owners who have to supervise a team.

9. # Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers: Specific for Small and Medium business owners and entrepreneurs to manage their business’ finances better.

# Please take note that these Courses will be offered in the different communities if there might be enough interested learners from the communities.

This communique serves as an invite to all community members to submit your ID Copies, CVs and proof of address at the office of the local CLO, indicating clearly which learning area you are interested in to attend on or before 24.01.2025.

Please take note no stipend will be paid to learners during the training and that learners are responsible for their own accommodation and transport.
