DSP is a Steel Processing company located in Saldanha, Western Cape. It is jointly owned by the IDC and a large Swiss-based multinational steel company, Duferco SA.
The following apprenticeships need to be filled:
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME Electricians
Mechanical Fitters
Boilermakers
Duferco wishes to grant an opportunity to individuals to join a four-year apprenticeship programme in conjunction with the CHIETA.
• DURATION Contract Positions
• CLOSING DATE 31 January 2025
• DEPARTMENT Engineering Successful candidates will be accountable to the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers respectively.
To qualify for this Apprenticeship Programme the most suitable candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum Education Grade 12 or an Equivalent Qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and RPL – SAQA and higher qualification would be considered.
• Preference will be given to candidates/applicants who am in possession of a NTC or NCV qualification.
• Experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment would be advantageous
• Practical hand skills and mechanical IQ would also be an advantage.
• Must be wiling to enter into a tri-part agreement/contract with Duferco, CHIETA and self.
Basic/Brief Job Functions/Responsibilities:
• Must have the ability and motivation to be trained and be committed to complete full apprenticeship training program.
• Must be willing to work hard and hands-on.
• Assist and work with a qualified artisan.
In addition to the above the successful candidates must also have the following attributes: Positive with energetic attitude; highly self-motivated; good communicator; good mechanical / electrical abilities, able to work in a team as well as individually and must be of sober habits.
