General driving as required.
Assisting warehouse staff with the presentation of cargo

2 – 3 year’s truck driving experience
Code 10 driver’s license and valid PDP

Time Type: Full TimeMain Purpose of The Role:
DSV Cape Town has runs dedicated operational teams, which manages all shipments for our retail key accounts. Within this team, we employ controllers, who are client facing forwarding controller dealing with buyers on a daily basis, while ensuring that all purchase orders move within their specified time frame. The position offers full insight into all forwarding and clearing activities for one of our blue-chip accounts. The operational structures for this client is very complex and is the perfect training ground for individuals to learn the freight forwarding business in an order management environment. The role is not limited to mode or import/export experience.
MinimumRequirements:
- Experience in Freight forwarding (advantage)
Qualifications:
- Matric (essential)
- Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Logistics / Maritime.
- Own reliable transport
- Unendorsed driver’s license
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
Computer packages
- Microsoft Office
- Tableau Software (advantage)
Duties andResponsibilities:
- Should the need arise, request for special attendance of urgent shipments from forwarding offices.
- Follow up with carriers and overseas offices to ensure cargo flown / sailed as booked.
- Update the Client controllers on shipment statuses.
- Manage the flow of order within the order management process for the client.
- Liaise with DSV offices to ensure cargo customs cleared and delivered before estimated date
- Expedite short landings or damages and Chase-up on outstanding consignments.
- Update the Client Master Status Report
- Meet with the Client controllers on a weekly basis at Client’s premises.
- Attend to all queries both from DSV as well as the Client.
- Assist with DSV invoice queries and rectify problems.
- Assist the COL in updating all Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist COL with any Ad hoc enquiries or projects that are requested by the client.
