Introduction
To provide support and to assist qualified technicians in a technical workshop environment and to acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of a qualified artisan, to increase quality and turnaround time in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand the requirements as specified in the vehicle inspection sheets
- Complete the relevant job cards and inspection sheets
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and repairs as instructed by qualified
- artisans.
- Perform work activities in a way that limits cost.
- Complete own training successfully as per an agreed personal development
- plan (PDP).
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- N2 diesel trade
- Code 8, 10 or 14 advantageous
- Basic knowledge of vehicle and/or equipment repair and maintenance (diesel fuel systems, gearboxes; engines; clutches; braking systems; vehicle pneumatic system; etc.)
- Knows the appropriate tools and diagnostic systems used to maintain and repair.
- Knows and able to follow preventative maintenance schedules.
- Understands and complies with relevant Occupational Safety, Health, Environment and Quality requirements within the work environment.
