Key Output
• Assist the Boilermakers in their day-to-day activities in the Welding Bay.
• Assist in the assembly and disassembly of fabricated components.
• Know the use of tools, and which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the assembler has them within reach.
• Assisting with rigging operations.
• Assist with housekeeping operations.
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
• Assist artisan / operatives to obtain and check parts for jobs.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
• Grade12
• Relevant previous work experience advantageous.
• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.
• Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment.
• Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment.
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision.
• Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage.
• Be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
• Be aware of safety rules and regulations in the work environment.
