Job description
Our Engineering Learnership is a structured program that combines theoretical training with practical on-the-job experience to help learners gain a nationally recognized qualification in an engineering field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Technical Training:
• Attend classroom-based training on engineering theory and safety practices
• Learn to use hand tools, power tools, and technical instruments
• Study basic principles of mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, or other specializations
• Practical Work Experience:
• Assist with equipment maintenance, installations, and repairs under supervision
• Participate in routine inspections and troubleshooting of machines or systems
• Shadow experienced artisans or engineers during technical tasks
• Workshop and Site Activities:
• Follow standard operating procedures in workshop or production environments
• Maintain clean and safe workstations
• Support in assembling, fabricating, or testing components
• Safety and Compliance:
• Learn and follow health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Report hazards and incidents to supervisors
• Learning and Development:
• Complete assignments, assessments, and practical tasks as required by the training provider
• Maintain a learnership logbook with daily activities and reflections
• Attend meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews
Trade Specific Requirements:
-Apprentice Boilermaker: Must have knowledge in Boiler making & Engineering N2
-Apprentice Millwright Must have knowledge in Millwright & Engineering N2
-Apprentice Electrician: Must have knowledge in Industrial electronics N2 & Electrical trade N2
-Apprentice Fitter: Must have knowledge in Fitting including Machining N2 & Engineering Drawing N2
• Must be between 18 and 35 years old
• South African citizenship or valid permit
• Strong interest in engineering and technical work
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn
• Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments
