THOMPSON INVITE UNEMPLOYED YOUTH TO APPLY FOR APPRENTICESHIP WELDERS, RIGGERS,MECHENICAL FITER,RIGGER AND BOILERMAKERS

DESCRIPTION
• Apprenticeship opportunities are available for current unemployed youths in Welding (5 positions), Rigging (5 positions) & Boilermakers (3 positions).
• These programmes aim to address the shortage of critical skills in South Africa and contribute to reducing the high youth unemployment rate.
• Successful candidates will participate in a structured 3-year apprenticeship programme in their chosen trade.
• The programme includes theoretical training at an accredited institution, hands-on practical experience on-site, and comprehensive preparation for the outcome: a trade test qualification.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
a. N3/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or the equivalent (NCV Level 4)

b. Mathematics, engineering drawings, and theory subjects relevant to the chosen trade, with a 50% grade average.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
• Only candidates who reside in the Lekwa Municipality and vicinity may apply.
• Candidates need to be medically fit for relevant trades and willing to undergo medical examinations, including alcohol and drug testing, as well as working at heights and in confined spaces training.
• Candidates must be flexible and willing to relocate if they need to be transferred to another site for further practical exposure.
• Applications must be accompanied by a cover letter, current CV, certified qualifications and a statement of results, a certified ID copy, proof of residence, and a police clearance certificate not older than 12 months (or proof that you have applied for it).
