Minimum Requirements
-Grade 10/Standard 8 Technical qualification (Essential/Minimum)
-AET Level 4 certification (Essential/Minimum)
-Completion of one or more Skills Programs: AA Fitting, AA Diesel Mechanic, AA Plater Welder, or AA Electrical (Essential/Minimum)
-Minimum of 1-year applicable technical support experience as a Helper/Operator in a heavy industry environment
-Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
-Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
-Proficiency in conducting first-level inspections and basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical equipment
-Capability to assist in both reactive and scheduled maintenance of equipment to ensure availability and reliability
-Ability to adhere to health and safety practices, promote good housekeeping, and rectify unsafe practices
-Skills in welding, cutting, and installation of refractory work

Duties & Responsibilities
-Assist artisans in servicing, maintaining, and overhauling machinery and equipment.
-Conduct first-level inspections and identify deviations in mechanical and electrical equipment to prevent breakdowns or production delays.
-Support in both reactive and scheduled maintenance of primary and secondary equipment to ensure reliability and availability.
-Engage in basic fault-finding and analytical analysis to interpret information and reach decisions.
-Recondition specified components and spares for installation and test repaired equipment for functionality before handing over.
-Uphold health and safety practices? promote good housekeeping? and rectify unsafe practices in the workplace.
-Perform welding? cutting? and installation of refractory work as required.
-Communicate any unsafe practices or hazardous situations to supervisors and comply with Safety? Health? Environment? and Community (SHEC) requirements.
-Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times? ensuring a safe work environment.
-Demonstrate flexibility? innovation? and a continuous learning mindset? contributing to the achievement of business goals.
