Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Electrician to join our technical team. The successful candidate will assist senior electricians with the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical systems and equipment across residential, commercial, industrial, and mining environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their electrical skills and gain hands-on industry experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, wiring, and cabling of UPS systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical faults.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, standards, and company procedures.
- Assist senior electricians during equipment breakdowns, maintenance activities, and project work.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and high housekeeping standards.
- Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and other required documentation accurately.
- Support preventative maintenance programs and schedules.
- Assist with the installation and setup of server cabinets and environmental racks, including:
- UPS systems
- Access control systems
- Fire suppression systems
- Air conditioning units
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- N2 or N3 Electrical qualification.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and tools.
- Valid driver’s license will be advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in demanding environments and adapt to changing priorities.
