Bokoni Platinum Mine is an ARM owned mining operation situated on the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex. This operation is planned to produce circa 400,000 oz per annum. Its project plan includes the construction of new decline shafts with combined capacity of 240,000 tons per month, a new concentrator plant, tailings storage facility and associated surface and underground infrastructure.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Artisan Aid Electrical. The position will be based at Bokoni Platinum Mine at Atok (Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, Sekhukhune District Municipality in Limpopo.
Artisan Aid Electrical (B4)
Purpose of the Job: Assist the Foreman and Artisan and deliver quality work output in the day-to-day work activities within the relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
Job Requirements:
Job Responsibilities will include the following but not limited to):
• Grade 12
• N2 Electrical certificate
• Generic Engineering course or Level 2 Aide course
• Literacy in English
• At least 2 years’ experience as an Artisan Assistant in a Mining Environment
• General housekeeping in area of responsibility
• Maintain and operate hand power driven tools
• Reclaim redundant electrical equipment • Install/suspend/join cables i.e. prevent damage by moving TMM’s
• Extend cables by means of a splice kit • Replace light globes, fluorescent tubes and dispose off in an approved manner
• Connect or disconnect an electrical supply cable with a capacity of less than 525 volts
• Isolate and test electrical apparatus prior to commencing work
• Test earth leakage trips
• Stacking
• Repair/replace damaged or broken electrical items/parts
• Ad hoc duties when supervisors are not available
