Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is developing its world-class palladium–rhodium–nickel–copper–gold project in Mokopane, Limpopo Province. The Platreef Project represents the “mine of the future,” using large-scale mechanised underground mining and cutting-edge technology to set new standards for the mining industry.
As part of our commitment to developing local talent and building future skills for our operations, Ivanplats invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to participate in our Trainee Development Programmes for various entry-level operational roles.
Programme Purpose
The Trainee Development Programmes aim to prepare participants for future positions required by the mine’s operations. Successful candidates will undergo structured training designed to provide practical exposure and on-the-job experience in a mining environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Successful completion of a Dover test for operator suitability
Advantageous
- Up to 2 years of relevant work experience
- Prior exposure to an engineering environment
- Additional technical or vocational qualifications above Grade 12
Important Information
- The training programme is linked to specific operational roles within the mine.
- The duration of training will be a maximum of 90 days, during which trainees are expected to demonstrate competence.
- Permanent employment is not guaranteed and will depend on performance, demonstrated competency, and available vacancies.
- Trainees will receive a stipend for the duration of the programme.
- Internal employees are welcome to apply if interested in changing career paths.
- No extensions to the 90-day programme will be permitted.
- Shortlisted applicants will undergo a LPCat Assessment.
