Job Overview:
PPC is seeking a reliable and motivated Artisan Assistant to support our maintenance and engineering teams. The successful candidate will assist qualified artisans in ensuring that plant equipment and machinery are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist artisans (fitters, electricians, millwrights, etc.) with daily maintenance and repair tasks
Prepare tools, materials, and equipment required for maintenance work
Perform basic mechanical and electrical duties under supervision
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and tools
Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
Report faults, damages, or unsafe conditions to supervisors
Support shutdowns and breakdown maintenance activities
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric certificate
N2–N3 Technical qualification (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)
Previous experience in a manufacturing, mining, or cement environment is advantageous
Basic understanding of tools and machinery
Willingness to learn and grow within the artisan field
Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments
Good communication and teamwork skills
