Understanding the ETDP SETA Internship Opportunity
In South Africa’s TVET system, students studying NATED (N4-N6) programmes must complete 18 months of practical workplace experience before they can obtain their National Diploma.

This internship programme is specifically designed to help CJC graduates meet that requirement

Many graduates complete N6 but struggle to find companies willing to host them for the required workplace experience.

Without this practical training, students remain stuck with an N6 certificate and cannot qualify for the full diploma.

The ETDP SETA internship programme bridges this gap by funding structured workplace placements that allow graduates to gain relevant industry experience.

This opportunity is therefore not just a job or temporary internship. It is a critical step toward obtaining a full National Diploma qualification, which significantly improves employability.
