Job Title: Apprentice: Mechanical Fitter

Purpose of Role: The purpose of this role is to provide practical, hands‑on support to the mechanical maintenance team while developing the technical skills required to become a qualified Mechanical Fitter. The apprentice assists with routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections under supervision, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operations. At the same time, the role supports long‑term skills development, succession planning, and compliance with training and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist qualified Service Technicians with routine maintenance, repairs, and installation of    mechanical equipment.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and dismantling components under supervision.
  • Conduct inspections and report defects or abnormalities to the supervising artisan.
  • Learn and apply mechanical fitting skills in line with training requirements and competency standards.
  • Complete required training modules, logbooks, and assessments within set timeframes.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science or N3 Mechanical Engineering.
  • Background in technical environment (advantageous)
  • Valid Code 10 / C1 Driver’s License(advantageous
