ELECTRICIAN AT SD RECRUITMENT

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Client, the leaders in Shock absorbing Technology based in Retreat, Cape Town is looking for a Qualified Electrician to join their dynamic Team. SD Recruitment would hereby like to invite all interested candidates who feel they meet the requirements to apply for the position.

Job objective

The objective of the Electrician is to provide support to the plant to ensure that the equipment, machines and services they use are safe, reliable and efficient. Responsible for the Electrical and Electronic Maintenance of all equipment used.

Education and Experience requirements:

Grade 12
Trade qualification

1-3 years post Trade test experience in a Manufacturing environment
PLC Experience advantageous

Main Functions

To carry out the maintenance activity on all production machines, plant facilities and all onsite equipment.
To attend the break down on all the above said equipment.
As and when required, to install and commission new/old equipment.
To carry out all the activities related to plant layout change.
While carrying out maintenance on equipment clean all the equipment.
Manage maintenance related projects (improvements and refurbishments).
Perform Preventative Maintenance work.
Diagnose maintenance breakdown problems and suggest viable solutions.
Keep the records of all the work done on to system.
Maintain a neat and clean work bench and working area.
Follow the cleaning roster.
Carry out all the shutdown activities during the shutdown period.
Fault finding on PLC’s.

Key Performance Indicators

Comprehensive understanding of reliability centred maintenance
High level of problem solving expertise with root cause analysis
Accurate and up-to-date documentation and information systems
Understanding of PLCs, Robotics, Drives, HT Electrical Systems, Electrical & Mechanical

Maintenance

To work independently without supervision
Work under stress and handle difficult customers
Handle multi-tasks simultaneously

The job holder must demonstrate knowledge of:

Electric circuit diagram reading ability
Panel wiring
Hands-on knowledge on Electric motor, proximity sensors, Limit switches, Light curtains
Basic knowledge Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Basic PLC knowledge
