Duties & Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

- Maintaining a comprehensive planned maintenance program on electrical and mechanical equipment
- Maintaining electrical equipment in stock and keep spares for all important and necessary equipment to make sure production is always possible
- Maintaining programs on kiln, dryers and all electronic equipment involved with the production teams
- Competent person which is responsible for safety according to Mineral and Energy affairs law
- Weekend standby / supervision.
- Perform and record to ensure high level of production
- You will be receiving training on mechanical maintenance on all areas of the plant, which will become part of your normal duties
- Planned maintenance on all electrical equipment to be documented
- Risk assessments on required time schedules
- Safety rules and planned safety measures
- Maintaining kiln and dryers production and proper records as required by SABS
- Planning ahead with production Supervisor on maintenance and cleaning of electrical equipment times and keeping records
- Ongoing “Hands On” training to be given to subordinate on a daily basis
- Ensure that induction training and safe work procedures are given to all new subordinates
- Adhere to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Report any unsafe or risk conditions to the Manager or Health and Safety Representatives
- Ensure that protective clothing and equipment are worn by you and subordinates on shift at all times.
- Ensure that subordinates obey and adhere to safety rules
- Report immediately if any leaks occur, because of fire hazards
- Ensure isolation procedures are carried out before entering restricted areas
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in your immediate and surrounding areas at all times
- Comply with the departments written housekeeping requirements
- Written housekeeping requirements must be in place and adhered to for all electrical panels, switch rooms and all necessary electrical equipment
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience:
Recognized Electrical Trade qualification
Grade 12
Minimum 5 Years’ Experience
Millwright experience an advantage

Have to do night shift and be on standby as the factory runs Monday – Sunday.
