• Following maintenance plans.
• Addressing mechanical issues (cables and pulleys).
• Offer team members guidance and on-the-job training.
• Notifying authorities of any occurrences or potential issues.
• Participation in activities and campaigns relating to SHEC.
• Suggest team members for training for development.
• Ensure that each team member has received the necessary training for the task at hand.
• Following safe work practices.
• Adherence to corporate standards and rules, such as PPE.
• Comply with rules and guidelines for lifting, placing, and moving heavy equipment.
• All repairs on machinery that uses cables and/or pulleys must be examined and tested for quality.
Task Requirements:
• Maintenance expertise with vertical shaft winding rope
• Have a Grade 12 diploma and N2 Engineering Studies
• Possess an Artisan Section 13/26D Trade certificate and Statement of Results (Rigger/Ropesman) that are current and valid.
• Be a graduate of a structured learnership program before receiving a MQA-recognized certificate in rigger artisan trade.
• Have at least three years’ worth of experience working as a rigger artist, assistant, or apprentice in a mine or factory.
• Pass a risk-based medical assessment at the appropriate facility to be deemed medically fit for the position and environment.
• Possessing a valid driving license for a mobile/overhead crane and forklift is helpful
