Qualified Electrical Instrumentation Technician – Durban
Salary: R15-18K with Benefits, Negotiable

 

Purpose of Position:

Electrical Instrumentation Technician needed by Complement Recruitment in eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal. The main duty of the role is to make sure that engineering issues are resolved and that execution is done in accordance with standards and quality criteria. The Electrical & Instrumentation Manager will be the direct supervisor of this permanent post.

 

 

Minimum requirements:

Electrical Trade or National Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering are the minimum requirements.

Medium Voltage (MV) Certificate: between 1000 V and 45 kV

3 years of experience fixing and keeping up machinery in a manufacturing or FMCG environment

The ability to work shifts is required.

Must be willing to put in extra time as needed.

Have a trustworthy way to go to and from work (based in Pinetown, Umlazi, Pietermaritzburg & surrounds)

 

knowledge and abilities:

ability for troubleshooting.

the capacity to write reports accurately and use tape measures

effective performance of physical tasks and instrument use

ability to work alone.

Ability to focus when working under pressure and fulfill deadlines.

 

Duties:

combine your electrical and instrumentation skills.

Offer a production service to reduce wait times and address frequent delays

MV Distribution panels in their whole, with a battery tripping device.

Diesel generator with an electrical panel, alternator, LV distribution panels, and an APFC panel.

Switchgear and LV Busbar

Earthing plants and preventing lightning

Equipment maintenance for the plant office, canteen, and administrative building

In charge of maintaining all plant and utility motors, as well as plant lights, UP, battery banks, and DBs.

Perform maintenance on drives, PLCs, and other process equipment.

Observe and follow-up on spare parts in the relevant region with the department’s buyer

involvement in alterations and renovations in the relevant area

Participation in the execution of energy-saving initiatives with a team
