purpose of job

To provide a property maintenance service through excellent workmanship. The primary focus encompasses maintenance,
repair and minor new-works interventions in the trades of plumbing, carpentry, painting, shop-fitting, glazing, welding and
basic masonry.

Position outputs:

maintenance, fixes, and minor new and old works.
Each maintenance task performed by the department and outside contractors is reviewed for quality.
adherence to all legal requirements, such as those imposed by the OSH Act, business policies and procedures, the environment, etc.
By considering exposures to corporate, financial, legal, human, equipment, material, environmental, and procedural problems, determine and evaluate the level of continuing risk exposures in the area of responsibility.
Choosing the scope and organizing the spares for the work order.
Provide the management with useful feedback on how the machinery is operating.

 

Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
carry out assigned duties while supervising helpers and contractors
Make sure that the necessary materials, spare parts, and equipment are available.
Participate in activities related to safety and health and risk identification.
Investigate accidents and incidents with others.
Talk to the supervisor about the backlog of work and any upcoming requirements, and then arrange remedial action, such as scheduling changes, rearranging the order of tasks, providing extra labor, etc.
Attend to defects raised through various detection processes and provide reports, breakdown sheets and over-inspection
mechanisms
Regular housekeeping and maintenance of machines to required standard (Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of
machines

 

Administration and coordination:

Qualifications & Experience:

12th grade / N3 (minimum)

Plumbing-related formal trade test certificate or qualification(s) from a reputable training facility in either painting, shop-fitting, carpentry, or welding.

a minimum of three years of experience in the civil maintenance industry, with one of the disciplines being plumbing or shop-fitting.
An advantage would be to have prior knowledge of other civil maintenance fields.
