APPRENTICESHIPS: Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Boilermaker, Auto- Elec
LOCATION: Mpumalanga
REPORTING TO: Workshop Foreman/Earthmoving Plant Manager
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:The effective repair and maintenance of all Heavy Earthmoving Equipment on site, with the least disruption to the site Attempt to achieve maximum availability for each plant dam on site.
Earthmoving Equipment Apprenticeship: X 10
• Assist Artisan to (amongst others): Diagnose faults and repairs on all Earthmoving Equipment_ Carry out preventative maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment to company standards.
Carry out all minor and major services. Check machines and carry out repairs that are required.
Reopon all breakdowns to management. Complete daily and weekly inspection sheets and advise notes Ordering of spares required for repair, maintenance, and services.
Monitor and measure daily efficiencies. Implement productivity improvement initiatives according to OE plan o Ensure plant availability of 90%.
Coordinate services of all equipment and plant.
Boilermaker Apprenticeship: X 2
• Assist Artisan to (amongst others)
Carry out maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment Fabncate from drawings. welding and developments.
Auto-electriclan Apprenticeship: X 2
• Assist Artisan to (amongst others). Adhere to organisational Safety and Quality requirements. Checks electrical systems on designated fleet daily by visually inspect.) operation of lights, flashers. warning systems. computers and analysing fault codes by using ET. VIMS on CAT machines and EDS. INSITE on 08K machines to determine root causes. Cames out any electrical repairs to designated fleet e g. wiring starters or alternators.
Lists all faults which cannot be rectified immediately and raped these to the Plant Foreman for follow up action.
Arrange requisitions of any elecincal spares needed for Ore designated fleet.
Carries out planned electrical maintenance to various machines, as required.
Check and sign all service cards on a daily basis on items repaired
Follow up on electrical breakdowns as a matter of urgency.

SCOPE:
• Candidate must not be older than 40 years of age.
• Candidates with the potential to become miners/ Artisans, must have grade 12 or higher qualification that will progress through the adult education to N2 Engineering / Mechanical.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Grade 12 Preferred
• N2 with the following subjects. Mathematics, Science. Drawing and related trade theory (Boiler makingIPlating/Fitting!DieseliElectrical)
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS.
• Valid Drivers’ License
• No criminal record
• Able to pass aptitude test
• Able to pass medical
• Not currently or previously registered on leamership with a company
• Letter from the Local Counselbr as proof of residence
KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS 8 ABILITIES:
• Good communication skills
• Practical experience in the relevant field with be advantageous
• Mechanical and technic, skills
