Shukela Training Centre -3 Year Electrical Apprenticeship
Shukela Training Centre has a 3-year Apprenticeship opportunity for an Electrical Apprenticeship, based at Mount Edgecombe.
This role will report to the Technical Training Manager (Electrical).
The Shukela Training Centre (STC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South African Sugar Association (SASA). STC was established in 1972 and is dedicated to the provision of agricultural skills and qualifications and apprentice/artisan and maintenance-worker training. The STC is the preferred training provider for South African and SADC sugarcane farmers and sugar producing companies as well as numerous other companies and some private individuals.
Duties:
- Assist an electrician and follow instructions
- Prepare and clean work areas
- Carry and deliver materials
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform electrical work
- Learn to read drawings and schematics
- Assist in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
The successful candidate must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- In order to be considered for selection, candidates need to be in possession of a Grade 12 with at least a N2 qualification (Mathematics, Engineering science, Industrial electronics) with Electrical Trade Theory
