Introduction
For preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation on buildings and electromechanical equipment, our customer is in need of a senior electrician.
Minimum standards
- Grade 12
- 5 years minimum related experience
- (Post Trade Test / N3) Nat Dip in Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification
- Certificate of Electrical Trade (Red Seal)
- A license for a 3 Phase Wireman (Installation Electrician)
- Willing to work on High Tension if training is required.
- a current driver’s license (Code 8)
- Understanding and familiarity with the relevant Health & Safety guidelines
Willing and willing to work overtime or outside of regular working hours if necessary
Desired Experience & Qualification
- perform routine preventative maintenance in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act on the electrical equipment at the relevant facility.
uphold LT and MV distribution boards, cable tunnels, and electrical substations.
Examine and test the DB earthing, the substation, and the earth leakage.
Make that the electrical reticulation in the facility conforms with safety and environmental standards.
Install new equipment and alter current equipment in accordance with authorized requests.
Attend to problems, set priorities, make plans, and place spares orders
Test the generator and update the logbooks.
Secondary duties
- Make sure a task sheet is connected to each planned maintenance job card.
Make sure that all employees have the proper PPE for the job. - Verify that the LOTTO protocol and risk assessment were followed.
- Ensure that all tasks included in the planned maintenance are completed successfully and in compliance with OEM and any applicable laws.
- Get completion signatures after fully completing the work card.
Deliver the finished job card for closure. - Any follow-up work and any safety-related issues should be reported.

- Train, develop and uplift junior staff through knowledge and skill transfer.
- Ensure that all tools used are well maintained, and the correct tools are used for the relevant trade
