Summary of a job posting
The Chicken Business is now seeking a Fitter who will be stationed at the Western Cape’s Chicken Processing Worcester Plant and report to the Plant Engineer. By maintaining, mentoring helpers, and repairing plant assets, the job will be responsible for assisting the Engineering and Maintenance department.
Minimum Conditions
12th grade or NTC 3 (relevant trade)
trade examination for a fitter;
five years of relevant experience following graduation;
the capacity to function autonomously and under time constraints;
a capacity for project coordination;
ready to perform overtime, standby hours, and call outs as needed;
Electrical breakdown expertise would be advantageous;
Machining skills will be advantageous;
An advantage would be having knowledge of poultry processing machinery;
being physically capable of working in temperatures normally lower than -40 degrees;
responsibilities and obligations
servicing, repairing, and maintaining all mechanical and electrical equipment
Inspection of mechanical equipment on a daily basis and proactive corrective action to reduce failures
mechanical equipment failures and standby responsibilities.
