Introduction
To provide support to experienced electricians in the Facilities department, primarily focusing on temporary generator installations during load shedding. This role will involve assisting with electrical tasks and general site-build activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Support:
- Provide support during temporary generator installations, including cable management, grounding, and connection.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical standards.
- Site Build Assistance:
- Participate in general site build activities and maintenance.
- Perform manual labour tasks as required.
- Assist with the installation and setup of temporary structures or equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Assist in the routine maintenance and inspection of electrical equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Learning and Development:
- Actively seek opportunities to learn about electrical systems and best practices.
- Participate in training programs and workshops as needed.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications and Experience
- Education:
- Matric or equivalent.
- Diploma in Electrical or Trade test, or equivalent
- Experience: Previous experience in site builds or a related field is preferred.
- Skills:
- Basic understanding of electrical principles (AC and DC).
- Ability to work with tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Additional Requirements
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.
- Working Conditions: Willingness to work in outdoor environments, sometimes in inclement weather.
- Safety: Adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Driver’s license: The candidate needs a driver’s license and driving experience
